meat free every other day!

by Loren (17.06.2009)

This is a great idea! I've ever been a vegetarian, and probably willl never give up meat entirely, but I can definitely handle 1 day a week. There are plenty of meatless dishes I love. Veggie chili, black or red beans and rice, omelets, pancakes, baked potatoes, etc...My long-term goal is to be meat free every other day!

Fantastic idea, well done! I and my 3 children are all vegetarian, would never have it any other way and I encourage all my friends to do the same.

Faux Fried Rice

by Marylou Karlson (17.06.2009)

1 Grated Cauliflower, as much as you can eat

a bit of broccoli

some fresh corn sliced off the cob

1 small thinly sliced red onion

1 large finely chopped garlic clove

a few shakes of the "bacon," bits (soy product)

1/2 a cup of peas

some veggie salt to taste

2 tablespoons of canola oil to cook with or one depending on how much you're making, I just drizzle a small amount into the wok.

Cook, serve, eat.
