Restaurant reviews
Greens Restaurant 43 Lapwing Lane, West Didsbury, Manchester, M20 2NT
A hive of activity every evening, Greens has a very informal warm atmosphere. The service was friendly and accommodating and the food delivered a home cooked comforting feel. The portion size is more than enough to satisfy a healthy appetite and the combination of textures in dishes such as 'Cheshire cheese sausage with mustard mash' will quash any preconceptions that vegetarian food is bland and mushy.

Went to Greens for lunch with my non-veggie boyfriend. We both agreed it was one of the best meals we had ever eaten. We can't wait to go back there for more.

As soon as we entered we were greeted with a friendly attitude and seated straight away. The interior is comfy, trendy and has a good atmosphere. I had the Welsh rarebit to start; it was very tasty and well presented. I did think the chutney that accompanied it was too chunky and not like a proper chutney as I was expecting. For main course I had the Feta Strudel which was well flavoured and tasty, however had too much potato. The bean stew which was served with this was also very tasty but I wasn't sure if it complimented strudel very well. As a table of 10 we were rather squashed on our table but the service was excellent. Overall it was a lovely meal in lovely surroundings.

I visited Greens for lunch one Friday; I was welcomed by a friendly chap and presented with the menu. The service on offer here was friendly and efficient. The selection on the lunch menu I thought was very small if your not keen on nuts of which i'm not. For starter I had a Asian style potato cake with Asian slaw. The potato cake was different, it had a crispy outer and the centre of it was a strong coriander taste but with the Asian slaw it was very nice. For main course I had the cheese sausage with mustard mash and ale gravy. The sausages when you cut them had stringy cheese coming from them with the broccoli, with the mustard mash was very tasty and the ale gravy complimented it very well. Overall it was a very nice restaurant which I would recommend people to visit.

Nice starter Oyster mushrooms with pancakes very nice would have again. Main course feta and spinach strudel wasn't the best too much potato lacked flavour and didn't think the butter beans that accompanied it worked together; think a salad would have worked better. Black pudding was very nice would order again but not to share.
Table seating wasn't the best a bit cramped, service was good no long waiting in-between courses or for drinks. Overall was happy and would visit again, maybe trying one of the desserts next time.

Visited Greens last week. The restaurant had a smart feel to it and the menu was varied. I had deep fried wild mushrooms with plum sauce & pancakes. This was just like having crispy duck. The mushrooms were crispy and melted in the mouth - beautiful. I also had the Potato & Aubergine Thai green curry. Nicely balanced heat and flavour. Excellent.
